About The Dayara Bugyal

Dayara Bugyal is a Himalayan Alpine Meadow in Uttarakshi district of Uttarakhand. It is located at an elevation of 12,000 feet and is 40 km from Uttarkashi. It is a very popular camping and trekking destination for Himalayan Hikers. Dayara Bugyal is very rich in flora and fauna. Trees like Deodar, Oak, Pine, and Rhododendron can be seen all over the place. Dayara Bugyal provides the best scenes of the Garhwal Himalayas. Mountain peaks like Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, and Swargarohini can be seen easily from here.


Dayara Bugyal is famous among tourists for its Meadows, Himalayan Views, Bugyal Hiking, Trekking, Weekend Trek, Camping, etc. This trek is just perfect for Corporates, Couples, Families, and kids, Group or Solo. The Dayara Bugyal Trek can be enjoyed at any time of the year but in monsoons. During the winter, you can see an endless expanse of glittering snow, which makes it a very famous winter trek. During the winters, the temperature ranges between 8°C to 12°C during the day and -5°C to -10°C at the night. You’ll find snow near the base camp towards the end of December. Snow covers the majority of the Valley and landscape making it look glittery snow white. If you are lucky, you’ll also get to experience the snowfall and enjoy snow activities with your fellow trekkers. 

Spring in Dayara Bugyal starts in mid-March and stretches till the April end. The snow from the winter is melting exposing the Lush Green meadows and the flowers also start to bloom again. Flowering trees like rhododendron are now blooming everywhere across the valley. The temperature ranges between 13°C and 17°C during the day and drops to 0°C at the night. This is just a perfect time if you want to experience the melting snow and re-blooming of the flowers making them look green and colorful. During this time, the lower part is blooming with flowers whereas, the mountain tops are still covered with snow.

Summers are warm and welcoming on the Dayara Bugyal Trek. As the summer has started the valley is covered in greenery and is toasted under the sunlight. You can even smell the fragrance of the flowers all over that makes it even better to enjoy the trek. The atmosphere gets hazier as there’s a lot of pollen and dust in the air. You can even see snow-capped mountains while trekking on a clear day. Another reason that makes Dayara Bugyal to be done in the summers is that it is relatively easier to trek as there’s no snow around and the temperature is also quite comfortable. If you are on a family trek, then summers would be perfect for you. The temperature ranges between 18°C to 20°C during the day and drops to 5°C at the night.

 Autumn at Dayara Bugyal:


The sky is the clearest in Autumn at Dayara Bugyal. This is the time when you can enjoy the sharp mountain views. You can view the majestic Gangotri Range and Bandarpoonch peak during this season. Autumn is the best season if you want to click pictures of these ranges from Dayara Bugyal. You’ll get to witness the change in the color of the meadows from lush green to fiery red, as Autumn arrives. This is just a breathtaking sight for trekkers who love nature. The Lush Green gardens have turned red and golden and there’s a crisp scent of Pine in the air. The temperature ranges between 12°C to 15°C during the day and drops up to 2°C at the night.

Quick Itinerary 

This trek is a 4-day long trek. Following will be the schedule for the trek: 

  1. Day 1: Dehradun to Raithal.

You’ll be picked up around 7:30 am from Dehradun and will proceed towards Raithal by road to Raithal. The total driving distance will be 185kms.

  1. Day 2: Raithal to Gui Campsite

On the second say, you’ll be trekking 5kms from Raithal to Gui. It is a very easy trek that trekkers can complete very easily. As you’ll reach the camp, you’ll get lunch and stroll in the evening.  Trekkers have to stay overnight at the camp.

  1. Day 3: Guide to Dayara Bugyal and back to Gui Campsite

On day 3 you’ll be trekking another 4kms at an altitude of 3408 meters. You’ll proceed to Dayara Bugyal from the campsite after having breakfast. Lunch will be done at Dayara viewpoint. Then, you’ll come back to the Gui campsite and have dinner.

  1. Day 4: Gui Campsite to Raithal and Travel to Dehradun 

Now, it’s the final day. You’ll be back at Gui campsite have to breakfast and proceed back to Raithal. Then you’ll travel back to Dehradun.
